The UKPressOnline archives are constantly searching for editions which are missing from the collections. We are pleased to advise that 80 editions of the Daily Mirror spanning a period from 1972-to-1979 have been added to the archives today, 9 February 2010.
With around 3,000 rediscovered pages filling in many gaps in this eight-year period you will be able to explore world and domestic news, sporting history and of course, the Daily Mirror's famous comic strips.
Events covered in these pages include:
The fall of the Greek military junta (reported July 24th 1974);
Nixon's Christmas bombing campaign of North Vietnam (reported 22nd December 1972);
The Labour Party's nationalisation of British Leyland (reported 25th April 1975);
Martina Navratilova's first Wimbledon title (reported July 8th 1978).
