The pages of the Daily Express from the Nazi invasion of Poland in September 1939 to the final Japanese surrender in Hong Kong on September 16 1945 are a hugely important, day-by-day chronicle of real life in a nation under siege.
The archive has been missing a number of editions and we have been working to fill the gaps. UKpressOnline is pleased to announce that all editions for 1940 have now been added and are available to search and to download.
This leaves only a few gaps to be filled; we have identified most of the editions needed and they are being processed now:
1941: missing left-hand pages from Sept 17 to Dec 31;
1943: missing right-hand pages from Jan 01 to Feb 15;
We will post a list of any editions which we cannot find once we have completed these additions.
