HEN gangland-style acrimony erupted between the police and David Blunkett this week, it was billed as another example of the Wirresistible Force meets the immovable minister. The boys in blue turned the airwaves their own colour with accusations of the Home Secretary's control freaker y. But the Sunday Express has learnt the real reason for the anger felt by the Police Federation, which now threatens to transform bobbies into demonstrators on the very streets they are charged with patrolling. Sources close to the negotiations have revealed that Mr Blunkett dramatically pulled the plug on a potential settlement offered in April that featured "a lot of money".
