Made in C1998, the film was a foretaste of our obsession with reality TV. Carrey plays Truman Burbank, who lives in the picturesque town of Seahaven, where life is like a postcard from the Fifties and just as innocent. Along the way, he suspects that someone is watching him, but in this case it's not Big Brother and there isn't a diary room in sight - he's actually the subject of the most voyeuristic piece of television ever.
